NASCAR WORLD REACTS TO UNFORTUNATE JIMMIE JOHNSON NEWS

NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson is back on the Cup Series this year, driving part-time for Legacy Motor Club.

His first couple of races this season have not gone well. After finishing 31st at the Daytona 500 following an overtime wreck, Johnson didn't make it through one lap at this afternoon's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.

The seven-time Cup Series champion was involved in a wreck on the opening lap, prematurely ending his day really before it even started.

Disappointed NASCAR fans took to Twitter to lament Johnson's plight.

"Man he’s had 0 luck the last few years," one fan wrote.

"He didn't even complete a lap!" another fan noted.

"DANG. Now he needs to add another race to his schedule to make up for this one," added a third person.

"Jimmie hasn’t had the best luck in his select starts so far. I’m sure it’s extremely frustrating for him and his team," a fourth person chimed in.

"Two races, two wrecks. Like he never left,' a fifth observer tweeted.

We'll see what Johnson has to say to the media about today's race.

Here's hoping he has some better luck in future competitions this season.

In the meantime, you can watch the EchoPark Grand Prix on FOX.
